 3560 series is a 5 bay 3.5 inch SATA hard disk drive NAS. It is based on Intel Atom 330 (1.6GHz / Dual Core) to support high performance data access ability with advanced RAID protection by RAID 0/1/5 /5+ Hot Spare /6/6+ Hot Spare and the expandable capacity of RAID 1/5/6 to supply maximum flexibility for users to manage disk volumes.
The powerful 5 bay NAS also provides iSCSI Target function for powerful or business user. The iSCSI is used to facilitate data transfers over intranets and to manage storage over long distances. The user can setup part of volume for iSCSI Target to access and manage by iSCSI initiator.
The 3560 supports file sharing across multi platforms. 3560 provides rich function for business purpose such as samba server, ftp server, file server, DFS server, printer server, web server, and Windows Active Directory.

Under this mode, the capacity of the hard disk drive is sum of two hard disk drives. For example, one of the hard disk drive is 2TB and the other one is 1.5TB, after create a single large virtual partition, the capacity under RAID 0 mode is around 3TB. It offers no redundancy, and therefore decreases overall reliability: a single disk failure will knock out the whole thing.

1.RAID 1 is also referred to as mirroring. Two partitions, all of the same size, each store an exact copy of all data, disk-block by disk-block. Mirroring gives strong protection against disk failure: if one disk fails, there is another with an exact copy of the same data.
2.Please install two hard disk drives with same model and size. If the sizes of the hard disk drives are different, the system will choose the smaller size to build raid system. For example, one of the hard disk drive is 2TB, and the other one is 1.5TB, after build RAID 1 system, the maximum size of the hard disk drive is around 1.5TB.

RAID-Linear is a simple concatenation of partitions to create a larger virtual partition. It is handy if you have a number small drives, and wish to create a single, large partition. This concatenation offers no redundancy, and in fact decreases the overall reliability: if any one disk fails, the combined partition will fail. When the first hard disk drive is full, the data is just start to write into the second hard disk drive.

RAID 5

RAID 5 stripes both data and parity information across three or more drives. The capacity of a RAID 5 array is the size of the smallest drive multiplied by one less than the number of drives in the array which can tolerate loss of one drive. |
RAID 6
( Requires a minimum of 4 hdds to implement ) |
RAID 6 stripes blocks of data and parity across an array of drives; expect that it calculates two sets of parity information for each parcel of data. The capacity of a RAID 6 array is the size of the smallest drive multiplied by one less than the number of drives in the array. RAID 6 can protect mission-critical data from two concurrent disk drive failures |
